Common CRA/IRS scam. Originates in India and Pakistan. Half the time they stay they are some sort of policeman and the other half the time use the term "Officer" in front of whatever stupid name they choose to use.
They don't realize that at least in the US Tax representatives do NOT refer to themslecs as "Officers", no matter what their official title is. We do have a job classification called "Revenue Officer " in the IRS. But in most ordinary cases of taxpayer communication, the term "Officer" is never used.
Ignore and block any cold calls from anyone claiming to represent any tax agency in North America. Demand a letter sent by ordinary mail. Also ignore any threats. Most police agencies in North America have nothing to do with any federal tax cases.
