Same here.   Called twice but no one on the other end

My mistake was answering a call from an area code where I know nobody!  The telephone has become more trouble than it is worth!
When I answered, there was background noise followed by a hang-up!

Who is this nut who called me twice at 4:15am?

Called both my cell and land line which is very curious. How does it have access to both?

This is a call from Readers Magnet - they prey on small time book authors. They pump you up, telling you that your book has been very highly rated by their staff and they want to promote it. Just pay $500 up front for the listing. First time they called, I had not done my research, so I listened to the pitch. When I asked for a few days to decide, she told me I had to make an immediate decision! That's when I knew it was a money grab.
The second caller called twice, but wouldn't tell me what the call was about or who he was. Lied and said he was my mom's friend "Cynthia Jones"! SCAM all the way.
