New scam..."The federal government wants to give you a grant"  Person with a bad foreign accent called with this scam of giving me a $9000 grant, but it costs you...He hung up on me after I got tired of listing to him go through his speech.

Mom got a call: The government wants to give her $5,000.00..foreign accent.  told her to call back with ID# to 202-810-5019

Grant scams:

The government does not call people up and offer them free money because you paid your taxes on time, have never been arrested, have paid all your bills, or whatever excuse they can make up.  In order to get a grant you need a valid reason (not one of the above and not just because you need money), you have to fill out tons and tons of paperwork, wait a long time, and might not even get the grant in the end.

There is NO grant.  To obtain one, you need to apply.  These thieves would want you to pay them first - which is ILLEGAL.

Called my cell, but no one there.  Now blocked.
