I rented an apartment in NY in August from Mariko.  Stay away from her!   We booked for 6 nights with confirmation.  The morning of our flight, she mailed that we could only have the apartment for 3 nights.  She double booked but was willing to take an "extra payment" to let us have it for the whole 6 nights.  The entire week she kept calling and trying to get us to move.  On the day before we left, the other family came to see the apartment.  They had spent lots of money on a last minute hotel room since we had not vacated.   After we left, it took over 6 weeks to get the deposit refunded.   Actually I am surprised that we received it all.
