I had this Tele Zapper and it works. Bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond for $40 years and years ago.

All you need to do is pick up the unwanted call once. The TeleZapper emits a 3-tone signal like a discontinued number. The auto dialer assumes your line is no longer in service and usually don't call back again. The draw back is, it works so well, legitimate callers may also think your line is no longer in service. So pick up your phone and scream "hello" real fast before they hang up. LOL....

If you have a modem on your computer, try the program called Phone Tray Free. It doesn't cost anything and is great for blocking all sorts of calls.

I got the state attorney in Georgia involved with Credit Card Services, and she asked for an affidavit from me, which I sent in.  She thanked me very much, as it gave her the teeth to shut them down for at least a year and a half.  It looks like they figured out how to get up and running again, as I get calls from them regularly.  Credit Card Services was operating out of Georgia, where they got shut down.  I don't know where they are operating out of now, but they are much more cagey about letting you get information from them.  If you can somehow, call the state attorney and go through the process I did.  It is much more satisfying to see them shut down than fined.

Amen and great suggestion on calling the state AG's office.  These companies are like [***] roaches...very hard to get rid of, but at least we can give them a hard time and much less comfortable to operate.
