I had a long conversation with someone from this number this morning. They asked for the parents of "my daughter's name" and wanted to sell me interactive cd's. I wish I could remember the name of the company she told me she was with... She told me she was a guidance counselor and that my daughter had signed up for this service.
Anyway, she knew my daughter's name, her grade in school and our home address. She wanted to sell me a tailored package to help study for the SAT's and how to apply for college scholarships and was asking for $230.00. She said there was a free 30-day trial but that I had to pay up front. I asked her to send me information to look over, and that I would consider it. I also offered to give her a better number to call instead of the one she was using. She said no thanks, that she would just call back on the same number in a couple of months. It started to sound fishy at this point. If she was selling something legitimate there would be a return number to call, a web-address....something.
