I doubt it's gypsies, unless you've invited Esmeralda and her goat to dinner. Most likely foreign 3rd world scamming criminals. Glad you got yourself a call blocker. It seems difficult to get people to understand that the Government can't do every thing for you, but that you can easily solve this yourself. If you'll pay $5 for a cup of takeout coffee, & $300 for a pair of running shoes, the call blocker is a mere bag of shells. Should be on the top of everyone's Christmas list.

Name on caller ID showed up as "XXXXXXX CA"
Called and told me he was a local painter looking to "drum up some work". It irritates me that they prey on older folks such as my grandmother. Hey "Richard" I can hear the excess noise in the back from every other person calling to scam people, ya dick. He probably couldn't think of a name to give me so he gave me an NFL players name

Rang a little while ago, and I pushed the button on my CPR call blocker.

My number's unpublished and I'm on the FTC do not call list, but with no enforcement, the thieves don't hesitate...

Those who hire such companies are likely to be asked for payment up front, either seeing the last of it, or else having things done with shoddy material that falls apart on a sneeze - together with distraction burglary.
