I received this phone call on 11/1/11.  He said a lawsuit had been filed in my name and against my SSN in  California Court.  I could not understand the thick accent, so the caller told me to call this number and ask for Michael Carter, who could tell me about this lawsuit.  The caller was adament that I call Mr. Carter immediately. I did not call him, and I advise you not to do so.  When I asked, they said they were located in San Francisco.  Problem is, they called me at 8am EDT, which would have been 5am PCT.  I asked them if they ordinarily make business calls at 5am, and the guy hung up.  I reported the call to the police and I advise others to do the same.   Just for safe keeping, run a credit report check on yourself.  These are probably identity thieves.

These callers are calling telling people that they are a collection agency for a check loan company. They are stating that you will go to jail if you do not provide payment. Hang up and call the local police!!!!

same story...guy calling, heavy accent, you can tell he is reading a script, saying you have a law suite and you better call me back.  Call back get as much info, then report them. I am so tried of scams

Received a voice mail at my Office from David at 626-384-3265..heavy Indian accent,made several comments about how I must return the call or have my attorny of record return the call immediately.. If I didn't I would suffer the consequences and he could only wish me luck as the situation unfolds.. or something like that? Really rude and nasty voice mail..and who gives them the right to contact me at my office and leave a threatening message and not Identify who he was with, what it pertained to or why he was calling??

Same garbage email. Simply report them to your local law enforcement. They are breaking many laws pertaining to harassment and collection agency codes of conduct.
