Thank God for the Internet. I've gotten 2 calls from this number on my cell phone today. Glad to hear I'm not alone and it's a scam.

Thank you to everyone that has posted a their experience with this caller. I didn't recognize the number and let it go to voicemail. It was an automated voice message stating they are the courthouse. What courthouse? When in doubt I always check 800notes.com.

I got this call today. I called the number, got some Indian guy and asked what's this about. The message said there was a law suits filed against me from the IRS. As a small business owner, I was obviously a little freaked out. I always pay my taxes on time. Anyway, I said I'm not comfortable with this phone calls and maybe I should visit my local office. He cussed me out and I hung up.  I called the real IRS and was referred to the US treasury department to report the number. I reported the number to the treasury fraud line, www.treasury.gov. I'm still amazed these idiots seem to think people will fall for this crap.

Received continuous call from this number today.  Caller said he was an officer with the IRS and was calling to discuss legal actions they are taking regarding tax fraud and evasion.  I immediately knew this was a scam as we have always filed and paid on time.  He proceeded to tell me they weren't disputing the fact that we filed but that an error was made by someone and it has resulted in x amount owed to them.  I went on to say I have never received any information regarding an audit and was certain the IRS would contact me via certified letter stating there was a problem.  He said they have tried to contact me on several occasions with no success.  I went on to tell him we have lived in the same location for 16 years and would certainly have received such information from them.  He moved on to say that if the matter was not satisfied today (vie payment at our local courthouse) the offer would no longer be available and they would move forward with the law suit.  I said there is no way you are getting money from me today and repeatedly asked for the law office handling this suit's name and phone number and also the case number, and all he could keep saying is I could go to Washing DC to dispute this.  He seemed to get more and more frustrated especially after I told him our Lawyer would be happy to speak and defend any allegations regarding this matter but stillll he provided no information (because there isn't any). Laughable!!  I wouldn't give in to his constant attempts to receive payment today and I kept speaking over his THICK ACCENT so he finally hung up.  But the story continues because he called me back an hour later.  I have now blocked all calls from this number because it is clear it is a SCAM run by SCUM!!!!!

A message was left on my voice mail stating a lawsuit has been filed against me and to call before it is reported to the county. I called and instantly felt a scam with the communication barrier going on!!  It appears as though my instincts were spot on.
