"Card Member Services" looking to lower my interest rate. There are web sites that can provide fake credit card numbers, so I pulled one up (http://www.getcreditcardnumbers.com/) and fed them some false data. Let them look up that credit card information. Also pulled up the customer service numbers of a couple of banks, in case they wanted me to read them the "Bank number on the back of the card". Had them going a little over half an hour trying to get in contact with {Bank} to verify the account. They actually tried to three-way the call with the customer service rep, but it seemed like the hold time was really long so they wanted to try another card. Glad I don't use that bank, I guess. Fed them another fake credit card number, and after a few minutes, the line disconnected. I guess they figured they wasted enough time or that the numbers were made up. Anyway, most of the time I was on hold, so I could still manage to work, which was nice. While they were frustrated, they did ask if I knew the credit limit on the card. I should have told them it was several thousand more than the balance I told them, just to whet their appetites a little more.
