My number is registered with donotcall.gov yet this caller ignored the law.

It's the "You've won a vacation! Could we please have your credit card number?" scam. Caller was an automated robot or sound board operator.

Do not call may have worked 10 years ago. not for past 5 years.

Here's a clue: Legitimate businesses WON'T call but law breaking criminals who don't care one bit about any laws and who use caller ID spoofing and robo-dialers will. In other words, it DOES work and how it's supposed to! Maybe you should try investing in a call blocker ... or take your name off the National DNC list and take your chances with the scammers!
