they hung up when I answered

I believe they are the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police asking for donations.

It's a SCAM. Read about how much of the profits actually go to the police at: http://www.lynnpolice.org/police_solicitations.htm or google "massachusetts fraternal order of police scam." I hate these people, I keep asking them to stop calling and I keep blocking their numbers but they still call from new numbers several times a day. I'm about to call the police on them.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.massfop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for Massachusetts police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Called asked if James was there and then identified himself as being from the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police after receiving the affirmative respospone.  I hung up immediately.  I never donate to unsolicited telephone calls from anyone...I don't care who they are.
