I've been getting a series of these calls from different numbers with various area code locations.  Each time I get one, and after checking that it is not a legitimate call, I block it from my phone.

Why would you think that? A phone number is a phone number. Scammers use them all.

When I called the phone number back, I was asked for my name.  I would not give my name because they would not identify their company or what business they had. The girl gave a big attitude and said that's fine. ... thank you for calling and hung up

Similar experience as above...Woman identified herself as "Veronica" and asked to call her back at 716-217-2485.  Not gonna do it.
