Yes, they do need the DNC llst if they are a telemarketer as per the definition of a telemarketer.  They need to scrum their lists.  No, they don't buy the list to have "good" phone numbers.  That is simply some fantasy someone made up (probably a telemarketer).  It doesn't matter where they get your number, the law is the law and real legitimate companies abide by it.  Crooks and criminals never do.

"Hi this is Christine fro AUT gas and power, I've been assigned to talk to you about your aut account" - nice try, but I don't have an AUT account, and they now are blocked.  Every now and then I answer a call from a number I don't recognize if I think someone may be calling me and I don't have their number.  And this is what happens.  ALWAYS LET UNRECOGNIZED NUMBERS GO TO VOICEMAIL!!!

I am plagued with these calls and fed up - I don't answer unless I know the number. We contact them and tell them to remove us; "yeah, sure we can do it" but never happens

614-541-2513 called my house.  I let the answering machine get it.  I never answer.  If you register to vote don't add any phone numbers.  All that voting info goes into the public records.  A telemarketer told me that.   They don't need the DNC list.
