why are you calling me at 8:40 p.m. People don't like calls that late unless it's family or friends. That's wrong and worth blocking. Bye Felicia

Called November 2. Said he was John with a fire fighters support fund. I told him I don't donate money over the phone and hung up right away. The next day or local police department tweeted the following: "PHONE SCAM ALERT: Criminals are currently posing as representatives of Norwich Twp Fire asking for $$$. Don't fall for it!." Not sure if John was related to the scam or not because he did not specifically mention the Norwich fire department in our brief conversation. Beware.

"John" just called me as well on my mobile requesting a donation for a firefighters' organization. Advised him to remove me from his calling list and then hung up.

The same firefighter charity...but with a twist: I'm a member of the Ohio Firefighters Association and the Ohio Association Of Professional Firefighters and neither are engaged in fundraising this way.

Just got a call from this number, and it was the same as everyone else...asking for donation to help "underfunded fire depts" in the area. I pretty sure I saw a police dept post on Facebook saying this was a scam.
