Frustrated with this debt collector for Commenity Bank. I am behind on payments due to husband's lay off. However, they call multiple times every hour daily from Sunday - Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. No one is ever there when I answer. Ever. I say hello five or six times and wait and not a soul responds. They never bother to leave a message either. How do I know it is really that company calling? So many scammers out there these days.
I have called Commenity, spoken to account reps, made payment arrangements, and still they called. I've made another 12 month payment arrangement recently to help us out while we catch up now that husband is working again. However no one notified the people who make the calls because they are still calling without ceasing. It is making me ill physically. I've turned off all the ringers on our home phones except one on low volume to just get a little peace. I've put every number they called from on call block and they just call from another number.
We've never been late before the past 4 months. If I had the funds I'd be paying on time. I even skipped my Medicare Premium so I could send them a small payment instead. It doesn't stop. I recently discovered my home phone, a Panasonic digital model, allows me to block chosen incoming calls and not be limited to ten call blocks allowed by Verizon.
Needing to collect a debt is understandable and I understand the callers are just doing their jobs but they should answer when they call and should not be rude. I have communicated and am making every effort to pay them. There is no need for constant harassment and there should be some law, if there isn't, that governs how often debt collectors are allowed to call you which also requires them to leave a message or be immediately on the line when customers answer and outlaws the use of auto-dialers. God deliver us all from harassing phone calls!
