Left call to say I ignored letter about taxes sent to me earlier or a penalty will have to be paid.

Automated msg from "Revenue Canada" about tax audit w 800 # to call back.  I didn't have a pen to write down the # so I didn't call back, not sure if it's a scam or not.

I tried calling the 613# ..it continued to ring w no answer.  I'm assuming this is a scam.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I received 2 different calls coming from 2 different numbers, a recorded type of call stating I had ignored the mail and that the IRS had filled a lawsuit against me, the second one said my taxes had been audited to call back.  No reference number given,so I knew this was a complete scam.  Calls came from these numbers :613-704-4490 & 303-357-5057
