never mind what the callerid says, it's fake.  they're a bunch of low-life scum using a 613 area code to pretend they're in "ottawa", but they are anything but the real item.

do you think the real tax department would ask you for money, just to "drop the whole thing"?  and payable through your nearest western union?!

Received a message this morning, Friday,  Aug. 28th, at 8h55.    They said a name (can't remember what) and then asked to call back immediately... I hung up before listening to the rest of the message.

Message said it was the CRA calling and to call back immediately to avoid them taking legal action against me.

Thank you Jennifer.  I just got another call same message but this time the last digit was a 5 instead of a 4.   Pretty unsettling.   Did you get the same message to ?

I got the same message.  I can't imagine any reputable company having an automated threat like this.  I'm not going to call back.
