This number was on my call display every day but I missed most of the calls. Then I answered it this morning and he asked for my late father who has been dead for 10 years. When I said he didn't live here anymore he said they were a federal officer and if I was lying I'd be in big trouble. I said if he was with the federal government that he'd know the person he was looking for was dead then I asked him to tell me exactly what organization he was with and what his name was and he refused so I hung up. No return calls yet.

I got the same call today. Tried saying they were from the CRA and I owed all this money for making fraudulent claims on my income tax. When I said that I used an accountant and that they could send me info by mail they hung up. They called again an hour and a half later with a recording saying the same thing. Very annoying!!

i got a call from the same number insisting i owe $3500 from revenue canada. he demanded that i pay right away or else I'll get arrested.

You would think that they would realize that people are smart enough to know that if we owe the CRA money that we would be notified by mail. Also the CRA has this scam posted on their website.

i got a similar call from an automated caller yesterday and twice today. Apparently the Canada revenue agency is filing a lawsuit against me. I was to call Eric at the same number or my SIN number would be red flagged and a "very serious lawsuit" would be filed against me.
