I received a message on my answering machine, today, Feb 16, 2016.  The message was unclear at the beginning, but went on to say that my property was under investigation, and that I should call  613-689-9662 right away.  The voice on the message did not sound legitimate- rather like it was a voice being dubbed over to disguise it.  I do not have call display.  The phone number was left by the caller.  I never called it, and was relieved when I googled it that it is an obvious scam, but it scared me when I first got it.  I reported it to the North Bay Police, who said not to call the number, but to report it to the anti fraud number at 495-8501.

Claimed to be from the CRA. Will be sending RCMP around to arrest someone in the household. Person had a foreign accent. Would not provide a return phone number

Got call on Jan 5,2016.Scared the hell out of me claiming CRA going to arrest my husband from workplace for tax fraud.Asked me to send money to my  Canadian lawyer who is in USA on emergency conference . reported it to RCMP. Caller says he is police officer from criminal investigation department.He will give you his batch I'd. Your file number etc.

I got a call from this number earlier today, (Feb. 11th 2016) I'm home sick from school and I was sleeping at the time so the phone went to the answering machine. There was one of those text to speech programs telling me something about some kind of case, some of the message was cut off. At first I thought it was a scam, but it still scared me. I am relieved that this is in fact a scam and I am in no danger.

Claimed to be from CRA shooting arrest at your physical property under investigation, phone the number provided for a ID number.  Very important to call back today.  Sounded like a mechanical male voice.  Ended with a female thank you and goodbye voice.
