called and no one was there... at 9:30 pm... I called back, got a message saying it was the Oldtimers Hockey League calling to "give you information" and claiming i'd probably missed their call but seen their number on my caller id.
there's an 800 number to call for more information, but funny thing, it's only staffed 9am to 9pm EST. So why are you calling me after 9pm?

There's a whole slew of charity services that have numbers 613-482-xxxx Even if you call their customer service line and ask to be removed from the calling list, it only lasts 2 weeks. I was told that unless you donate, you will stay on the list. If you do donate, you will stay off the list for 3 years.

I suspect that this is a computerized telemarketing autodialer that they forgot to turnoff. It is not being staffed right now (probably the contract ran out). At least this is the cheerful interpretation. The other less cheerful possiblility is that they are hounding us because we said NO.

I have gotten a call from 6134920395 7 times in the last four days, every time I answer there is noone there.  I would really like to know what the heck is going on!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too!  They keep calling and no one is there when I answer!
