Call display says Class One Air. Said they were testing water on our street, and offered a free test saying that they would offer a more extensive test than the one available for free from the city. Abruptly hung up when I insisted I wasn't interested.

Same as Ian above.  Seems very strange.

I just had a call from 613-446-0144. The person on the line sounded pleasant and said that she was calling from SCA...something like that and that they would be on our street today to do water testing today, and wanted to make sure someone would be home this afternoon. She said it was free of charge and we get results immediately. When I asked who is SCA and if they were with the city of Ottawa she said no, they are independent. I was then going ask what is the nature of their business, do they sell filtration systems and before I completed my question she hung up the phone on me... to me, it is obviously a scam if they won't even answer questions about who they are and what they sell! Then I tried to call back, I was going to ask them to remove me from their list and they hung up agian without answering. I had not been rude or even annoyed at the woman on the phone so I have no idea why she did this...unless it is a scam.

The same as above, tried several times to call back with no luck, they just kept hanging up without talking.

A woman called from Class One Air 613-446-0144 asking for Mr X I said there was no Mr just me. She said they wanted to do a free water test. She asked if I used bottled water (no I use Brita), asked if I was the owner of the house or rented (I own), asked if my partner and I would be here between noon and 1 and I said yes I would but there is no partner just me. She told me Keith would be by to do the test. So now I'm waiting to see if he comes. But in the mean time I got nervous wondering why twice she checked to see if there was a "Mr" or another person with me.
