got a call today, 2/5/2013 1:11PM from 6125641321
asked for my ssn
I asked for who is calling, I got a first name only
I asked what company, she said 'convergent outsourcing'
that was enough for me to start researching and I hung up.

This number is touted all over Minneapolis as belonging to "reliable locksmith, 730 2nd ave, minneapolis, MN 55402-3400

I went to the address to check: it is a highrise in Minneapolis, no locksmith nowhere in sight, also not on the skyway. Asked a janitor, and a security officer: 'never heard of it', they worked years at that place.

Further googling brought out that this is a fraudulent collection scam, supposedly a reputable company operating since 1950. Many online references for fraud calls and credit report 'hijacking'/'extortion'.
From recent a- to c- on bbb: if this is the company that called: they have created a fake duplicate 'online identity' to hide their number.
If anything violates the fair collection legislation.... working on putting this together to have their Minnesota license revoked. Anyone wants to join? post here.

They call me and immediately ask me for my SSN and DOB as part of their identification process. I explain I don't provide that to people who call me and ask what the business is regarding. They will not give me any information and eventually hang up.

I just received a call from this number however, on caller ID it shows up as the Durrant Group, Inc. I have also received a letter from Convergent but I don't deal with the creditor they say they are representing.  Their letter states that I must reply to them by the 28th of March. I will reply with a DV letter cc'd to the attorney general's office.  I am also planning to write the AG for these calls as it wasn't until I looked up the phone number that I realized the number for the Durrant Group (an architectural firm) is not the same.  When I did search the number I noticed it pulled up a locksmith company and Convergent.

I  called the number back and nobody would answer,  they hung up when I initially answered also.

jus received call at my job, asking 4 me 2 verify my mailing address.  Ask female caller y call my job/how they got number?  Caller stated she got my number from T-Mobile, which I just purchased prepaid plan & phone 1week ago to date. Funny, y wud T-Mobile give my job number instead New cell number. I called female caller back, she answered. I stated that I looked up her fony company and I no their fraudulent, then I hung up. unbelievable.
