Keep getting calls from this number.  Tried to call it back and it says not in service.

I wish this person would stop calling!!!!!

I called Verizon about this (and sat through all the automated menus and music) because this number has called me twice.  I don't pick up, but the phone scares the cat.  As I suspected, the customer service representative said that this was common for telemarketers and other more nefarious types.  They spoof a local number because it makes it more likely that folks will pick up the phone.  Apparently, it isn't working too well, since no one here has picked up the phone to find out who they are yet.  I suspect that they will spoof another number soon.
He also said there was nothing Verizon could do.
