Just received a phone call from (610) 200-0379 CID says PA, USA, to my cell phone. Said he was from GE Home Security and looking for homes to put a free sign up in exchange for a system. I told him I already have a system, he went on to inquire about my contract... I said I have had it for so many years that I don't have a contract. As he said and then promptly hung up... bells started ringing. What a great way for a criminal to see if your house has an Alarm system and if (say there is a sign in your yard and they are actively casing your home) I freely give this information up. I just realized this could be a way for some devious individuals to commit burglaries. I am on the do not call list so I will file a complaint however this other scenario alarms me. I hope others don't inadvertently give out sensitive information if this is not a legitimate arm of GE.

Figured I'd look up the number before calling them back, now (thanks to everyone who posted!) I'll just leave it alone.

I have family in this area code, so answered the call.
Caller Identified himself as being with GE Home Security.

We are on the NDNC list.  Why would I do business with criminals?
