I think most people who use 800notes know that the DNC Registry is pretty worthless for controlling calls like these. My phone has a 250-number blocking capacity and it's filling up fast.
Defenders of the DNC Registry--and there appear to be a few of them, likely government employees--say that telemarketing calls have fallen off sharply since the establishment of the registry. That's only true if you count large major legitimate businesses, who are the only ones who obey the law.
I receive more calls than ever, from solar energy salespeople, credit card "interest-lowerers", fake Microsoft technical people, lawn service companies, exterminators, sellers of fake extended warranties, phony IRS agents, mortgage brokers, air conditioning repair companies, and just about everyone else. Such calls are illegal but the FTC does nothing and never will do anything. Complaints just vanish without any action being taken by any government agency. It's pretty sickening, but that's government "efficiency" for us taxpayers.
