called my cell, and didnt leave me a message. when i called back no one answered!

Called this morning, Great Lakes EDU pops up on the caller ID. I do not have any student loans or anything so i answered. It was actually a call for the people who live in another unit of our buidling. They wanted me to give her a message. UM no i am not delivering collection call messages for the people in other units. The guy asked how he should contact her i told him NOT MY PROBLEM! If you do a reverse addrss search on our address only our number comes up not the other units (we are not the landlords) and its really annoying!

Called July 1st looking for a person I do not know, never heard of, nor did I even know this person existed until this number started to call me looking for this person.  Tell them they got the wrong number and wrong person and they just keep calling back.  Doesn't matter that my number is on all the "Do Not Call" lists.  They did identify themselves as "Great Lakes".

This is Great Lakes Higher Education.  They are calling to track down one of their student loan holders.  This is a federal financial aid holding company not a collection agency.  If you're getting a call from them it's most likely as a reference for someone you know.  If you do know the person's whereabouts, its actually in your best interest to let them know how to reach them, or to contact the person yourself.  Usually they dont even need a payment, they can help the loan holder clear up their account without any money so that their student loan doesn't damage their credit.  Basically, when they filled out their FASFA they put you down as someone that could be contacted in case their information is no longer good.  Usually it's for a family memember.  Best thing to do is ask who they are looking for, if you don't know them make sure you tell them that this probably is an old number for their old reference and to take you out of their skip trace campaign.

Same thing happened to me. A call came from this number asking to speak to my ex husband who obviously no longer lives with me. Then within seconds another call came in , same person but they had blocked their name and number this time. They also wanted an update on his information. Sounds to me like some sort of scam to get personal details to rip you off. Dont give this lot any info on anyone.
