These are indeed the same idiots who try to tell you your computer has a virus. They want you to let them in via remote desktop. I guarantee you WILL have PLENTY of trouble if you let them in! Do not EVER let anyone you don't know have remote desktop on your computer, it bypasses every protection you have in place. These guys have called from two other numbers today: 585-243-9807 and 845-928-2408. They are unusually persistent today. It does no good whatsoever to argue with them, they just have another of their crew call right back. Microsoft DOES NOT make calls like this, and they do not have the ability to tell if any computer (other than their own) is infected. NEVER believe this!

There needs to be a category for SCAM on this page. These are scammers, not telemarketers.

Rec. tele call at 8:06AM (westcoast of Canada) & caller wanted us to go to our computer immediately to check for viruses we were purportated to have.  We hung up after a moment of listening to his speal.
Checked out this number online & it's from New York.  We obviously did not give out any info & as said just hung up.  He had a heavy accent & hard to understand as well.

Recieved a call from 607 529-9906 caller  ID says payphone. I have 3 boys that may need help . may for some reason be calling from a payphone. Nasty nasty nasty!!

I answered got no reasponce I tried to call back and got a message that this was not a functioning number
