Man with a foreign accent (sounded Indian) called already having my name, address and phone number, but would not divulge where he got it (I have had about 20-30 calls in past two days from scams)

This man claimed to be offering government grant and I had been selected to receive 6,700 dollars if I could route my banking info and western union info to him.

I knew right from the start it was a scam so I played along and told them, I already received a call from him last week and already received the grant, and was very appreciative because I really needed the money and I already bought a new car with it.

He was very confused and began to panic trying to understand how I received what is obviously a fake grant.  After keeping him on the line for 25 minutes, talking to a supervisor which had the same voice. I was able to trace the call with my own software to  0035066921 to another country and scared him when I offered him his actual location.

He insisted he was in the state of Washington D.C. I asked him what state that was in because that is a city. He said the City of Washington in the state of D.C.  I asked him what DC stands for?  He said DC DC DC!! You wasting my time sir. I said you are a freaking moron then I thanked him for staying on the line long enough for me to run a trace and that the real government would now be after him and he would receive a fine of up to 10,000 for every phone call made to my number.

He then proceed to call me a "motherf**er" and "to eat my mom's ****** "  And hung up.

Total scam!! I too wasted the guys time ( and my own) and gave him super long answers to anything he asked me.  Had him stammering at the end. He gave me a number to call 201-535-4546 with a special number to access grant $$.  That number is already registered as a scam.

This phone number has been obsessively dialing me, at all hours. I haven't answered because I've been getting a barrage of solicitation and unwanted calls. It was an Indian female who stated she was from the US Treasury and that I was randomly selected to be awarded a $6,700 grant. I called bullsh*t and she said, "No, this is real.  It's a grant and you don't have to pay it back."  I screamed at her, cursed, and told her never to call me back again.  The next time they call, I'm going to repeat Todd Jumper's beautifully stated prose.  My hero.

The same thing happened to me. He had a lot of information about me and it was kinda scary. I did not give him additional information. The exact same scam happened to me with the exact same numbers. I wish these people would be arrested. The additional supervisors number that he gave me was 202-657-4059. Todd you are a hero.
