Got a call today and the guy wouldn't explain who the company was when I asked but put me through to someone else 'to explain the trading system further'. He mentioned something about being an 'investment opportunity'. I said 'is this about trading on the share market?' and he said, 'I'll ring you back Friday and someone can explain further'. What the hell is this??? I am in Australia and the call was from the USA.

The caller had a very heavy East Asian accent but I was able to catch something about a computer company.I concluded it was a scam and hung up.

I got a call from this number: I confirm that this is a SCAM. I spoke to an operator that pretended he was part of the "Microsoft Windows Support" center and that he had received automatic messages from my computer. You can easily suspect that this is a scam because (1) the operator barely speaks English and does it with strong asian accent, (2) the phone communication is low quality, and (3) the background noise of other operators around him, shouting instructions to other "customers", is so loud that it is impossible that this call could come from "Windows support".

Bottom line, the guy wants you to purchase some software for resolving your computer's problems (e.g. antivirus). See the following chronicle published in "The Guardian".

Hope this helps. Cheers,
