Recieved calls last 2 nights.  Listed as "unknown name".
Last night, a voice recording instructed me to contact 605-274-2840
Tonight, the same voice recording, but instructing me to contact 605-274-2841.
Haven't called the number, but wondering who the heck they are and wondering what kind of scam is being run?

Debt collector it seems

TO GET THEM TO STOP CALLING--
Answer the phone, they will ask if you are 'first name_last name' say yes. Then they'll tell you they are calling about whatever overdue account...  Immediately tell them this "My employer does not allow me to take personal calls at work."  US Federal law states that they must immediately terminate the call and not call that number back.  If they ask ANY other questions, simply keep saying "My employer does not allow me to take personal calls at work. It is a violation of federal law to continue asking questions or call this number again."  This gets them to stop calling even if it is your cell phone, home phone, whatever,...

There is also an .gov internet site where you can file a complaint against companies that don't follow the fair debt collection laws. You can google for it, or if people post here and say that these guys continue to call after being told the above, i'll find and post the url.

Now that we have Smart Phones that can automatically block these
numbers, these calls will never bother us again...... Yay!!!
