I've tried to unsubscribe from their calls before no no avail using the automated system. Tried talking to a representative, and they hung up on me.

Don't even respond to anything from a call you are unfamiliar with. Way too risky. Hang up. Better yet, if you don't recognize the number, don't answer and then check to see if it's legit.
