SELLER BEWARE, OR YOU WILL BE CHEATED:
I received a text message from this number in response to a Craig's List ad that I placed. The scam seems to be all to common place in the Craig's List world. The message indicated a desire to purchase my expensive "item" sight unseen, with a promise to pay the asking price and an exorbitant amount of money to ship the item to some remote location. A bank to bank or bank to Paypal money transfer was promised to be initiated as soon as account information was sent.
There were several red flags. The biggest one was the willingness to send nearly $2000 for a piece of jewelry the authenticity of which would NOT need to be verified. I reply to the text message with a promise to turn the messages and any information I had over to the FBI Fraud Unit for investigation. I will do just that!
