Political call. This was Sen John McCain inviting my answering machine to join in a conference call later  this evening on "The New American Economy" or somesuch.

Caller ID says "Springfield VA".  They leave a message.  I do not call them back.

They leave the following message, "Hello.  This is Senator John McCain calling you on behalf of New American Economy.  I'm sorry I missed you.  Tonight we're calling to invite you to join us on a special free conference call where you'll have the opportunity to hear about how New American Economy provides the economic case for a common sense approach to modernizing the immigration system in the United States as well as directly ask me or the organization questions regarding our direction.  If you receive this message before 6:35 PM Eastern Time and would still like to join this free event, please, dial 1 877 229 8493 and enter in the ID code 116582.  Again dial 1 877 229 8493 and enter in the ID code of 116582.  Again this is senator John McCain on behalf of New American Economy.  Thank you for your time, and have a good evening.  You can reach the New American Economy at 571 336 6082."  They called after 6:35, so I'm not sure how this would work.

I suspect that they want a donation to help spread their "message".  I'm sure a substantial portion of any donation will be spent on "administration".
