GoT A Call FromThis Number And After 3 Second They Hung Up

Called twice in a row and didn't leave any message.  The IRS does NOT call.  They mail everything.  Obviously a scam.

This is a SCAM. A caller from this number knew some information, but  was searching for more. She was rude, unprofessional and unintelligent. I did not give her the info, and she quickly gave up. I received a letter from the IRS, the next day with completely different information from the caller.

I reported this to the FTC

I got a call from Ms. Lopez asking for a copy of the amended tax return that the IRS really is currently working on, and it's not from the most recent year so it's uncanny that they knew to discuss that particular return. Anyways, at the end of the call when she left the fax number and phone number, the call slowed down and got all jarbled. It was really strange. The first 6 numbers of the fax number are really part of the IRS's fax number, but the last bit is all messed up so I can't hear it. It's a very detailed scam if it is a scam! And I want to know how they got my name, my husband's name (which is different than mine, I didn't take his name!) and my phone number, AND the year of the tax return that the IRS really is working on!

Received a call from "IRS" they gave a badge number and first name. What sounded real was the fact they knew the lady that has done my taxes and wanted some additional information from the tax report we had sent in. I told the caller I'd have to go see my tax person and she could send the information. Now I'm thinking it is a scam?
