received out of state call to private office, broken recording promising to call back, female voice, no explanation of reason for call, no name provided, no identification of product or service offered

Received a call from this number, also could not understand.

who is this?

They called my unlisted telephone number from this number and said she is from the Sacramento Bee. She said that she was not selling me anything but would deliver coupons and other items.  She just needed my home address - I told her no - she got upset and I hung up on her.

I *69 the number and called it:  it said it the number was not in service

This call said it was a promotion and they could not connect me to a live representative.  However, NOTHING showed up on my caller id.  The # I am posting is the # they gave me in the message.  They claim that they will be calling me back later.  I have no idea who it is but I am getting maybe 5 calls most days in the last couple of months with this sort of crap from a variety of outside sources.  Time to ditch the landline which seems to only ever be used as a conduit to telemarketers
