I'll go for 2 weeks without getting a single call from an unknown number, and then all of a sudden I'll start getting a dozen or more calls a day from obvious robocallers. It seems clear that 12 separate individuals did not suddenly and coincidentally start calling me on the same day, and that all of these calls are coming from spoofed numbers emanating from a single boiler room operation that's probably somewhere in the vicinity of India. The bottom line is that if someone calls me from another area code it's 95% certain to be a robocall. Given that they rarely, if ever, use the same number twice, I don't bother to block them unless they do make repeat calls. Life must be tough working in one of those boiler rooms for what, in America, would barely amount to lunch money for most people.
