Good for you! I hope he/they didn't call you again.

I've gotten a few suspicious or telemarketing calls on my cell phone, but most of those times I was away from my phone or couldn't answer it while driving. The other times either they or I hung up. Both my landline and cell phones are on the National Do Not Call List. If they're really trying to reach you personally, good luck with hiding your cell phone number. That might work for a while as long as your landline is off and there's no connection in anybody's records. Otherwise, don't depend on it. Scammers and spammers can just call every number there is and get some poor victims one way or another. Our technological computerized society makes crime easier than ever... even from the comfort of the crooks' own homes.

With spoofing they even call me supposedly from my own landline phone number... and the phone company and governmental authorities can't or won't help beyond telling me the law and giving me advice. I still do most of my calling from my landline, don't do as many texts anymore and my lousy smartphone is sometimes iffy on the Internet, etc. Most of my online work is through desktops connected to the Internet by high-speed DSL from my landline phone company. I don't have cable or satellite service, so it's cheaper that way for me.

We're all tired of all of these calls, but with spoofing and the way the criminals work, we can't get much help from the phone company, especially landline ones, or governmental authorities. Part of it is because of loopholes in federal law. Blame some of this on Congress and ask them to fix the Spoofing Law(s). Cutting off your landline will get rid of a bunch of the calls, but scammers and telemarketer spammers are starting to invade cell phones, too, despite those laws. So far cell phones are safer, but trust me, not completely safe – or else many of my calls I couldn't or didn't answer were from friends or family who blocked their numbers.

But they may call every few days that way and disturb you with the phone ringing, so you can't win sometimes. They wake me when I'm in bed after I work at my computer all night, so even if I don't answer it disturbs my sleep. Arrgghh!

They do cold calling, knowing that a lot of people such as me do suffer from diabetes. If their number and name indicates a medical supply company I sometimes answer, because some are actually valid ones connected to some other place where I've done business, so I get sucked in at first.
