A recorded message stating IRS was filing a lawsuit against this household.  The  number is a cellular number and originated in Mt. Shasta California.  The IRS would not use a cellular phone and more importantly , would not be calling. This scam has been going on for years.  IRS does not call, they use the Postal system for communication. Plus. When I looked up the phone number, Mt Shasta California is  resort city. .

Female caller identifies herself as calling from the IRS and left voicemail with message to call 530-859-8043. I know the IRS doesn't call you and that it's a scam. The fun came when i called the number and a male name 'Paul' with a Middle Eastern accent answered. I asked, "are you serious?" and couldn't stop laughing so he hung up.

Ha! Shasta is far from a "resort city"!!

IRS filing a lawsuit.  Out of sheer bordom I returned the call only to have Paul or Raul (couldnt get past the thick accent) say i could settle for the low low price of 1200.00. I asked him if i gave him my cc number would i not be harassed by the IRS any longer, to which he replied, "No. This is is a one time charge that will satisfy the US (and i had to turn off spell check for this) gummermentz suit. Do you happening to have your cc number ready?" I gave him my pets id tag and grandmothers b-day numbers. He wont know the difference anyway,

Just got this call, called back for entertainment purposes since it's a scam anyway. Wanted to settle a lawsuit for back taxes, he refused payment in Mexican Pesos and hung up when I offered a 3 way call to my attorney.
