Dad got voicemail from this number today -- left by woman with a really bad foreign accent.  When he called back, he gave just his last name and maybe phone #. They claimed all sorts of things and asked if he had a lawyer.  Freaked out dad.  Luckily Dad told them to send him something in the mail -- probably because he could barely understand what the otherperson on the line was saying.  LOL.  

I just rec'd the same call this morning in which a voicemail was left basically stating all the tidbits mentioned here.  It's a South Lake Tahoe number with a male voice and broken English (sounded Indian or Persian).  

We also got a message from this number.  They said they are from the IRS and its urgent we call them right away.  We could barely understand the Indian accent.  

I'm planning to report to the local Police as the phone number must be registered to someone.

Got this call TWICE today (11:33am and 3:18pm).  A man, claiming to be a "Peter Anderson" (but sounded like he was from Nigeria, or another African country) from the "IRS" stating it was URGENT that I (or my legal representative) contact him - no intelligible reason.  I call the number back - it rings a few times and then gives a single "BEEP".
I figure if the IRS REALLY wants me, they'll send me some WRITTEN communication.  They wouldn't dare have someone who barely speaks english call and leave a message.

I got a call from this number. He said he is some Michael. He said I have some IRS problem coming up. He wanted me to talk to some IRS official. I had some idea about a scam going on.so I did not want to talk to any person who would be posing as IRS official.Later I called up the same no. from other phone. It was found that it is a bunch of guys speaking gujarati and hindi.
