They are obviously aware that the 530-208-9631 has been reported as being utilized in connection with a scam, for I received an identical call to those decribed above (the male caller, who had such a thick SE Asian accent that his English was barely understandable, identified himself as "Justin Johnson" of "Beck Litigation Dept."), but the individuals behind the scam have apparently changed the telephone number they had been utilizing through which to route, and "mask", their calls, as the call I received originated from telephone number 415-251-3769, in Novato, CA (a small city North of San Francisco). I did not respond to the call, but I am concerned that other people might, particularly elderly individuals who are more susceptible to frauds wherein the perpetrators utilize intimidating threats of legal action, so I made a telephonic complaint regarding this call with the Treasury/IRS Administration.  It is unlikely they will take any action, particularly since the calls are probably originating from overseas, and simply being routed so as to make it appear that they are originating in California.

We received a call exactly with the same message today just a few minutes back and checked the internet, and it is very dear from this site that it's a fraud. It was an Indian accent with the same message as posted in the other posts above. Since I get the vm as email, I've forwarded the email with the call attached to IRS. Hope they take some measure to catch this guy.

I had a voice mail with a call back number 530-208-9631, When I called back at night there was no answer or machine indicating IRS. I already got suspicious, thanks to this forum, and when I called that number this afternoon a guy ( with a foreign accent) picked up by saying IRS. (The IRS  agents always answer the phone by saying INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE, his/her name and the badge ID number). The first sentence he uttered was "Can I have your attorney's information, and I asked him to verify my tax ID number at which he got upset and said he will call back. Definitely a big scam please do not give any personal information over the phone. specially the social security number, or any Bank / Credit Card numbers.

I lived in USA for the past 42 years, I am a US citizen, originally from India,  also received a threatening message from 530-208-9631 that was left on my recorder by Chris Rogers, he sure had a typical uncultured Indian accent. He demanded that I return his call immediately else face legal action. My wife CPA who prepares our taxes and familiar with IRS rules and practices, immediately said that this sounds like a scam. According to her, IRS always communicates in writing and provides ample opportunities to correct the 1040 returns before taking any actions.

They are trying to scare you into sending them money via a green-dot  money card or something like that in payment of a non-existent tax debt.

I tell them, after winding them up a  bit that the only thing I'll send them is a Hellfire missile fired from a US drone aircraft!  They hang up quick when I tell them that.

Received phone call today at 8.20 a.m. Indian accent, asked for me by my full name, gave his name as Chris Brown and said he was from the "IRS Investigative Department" and that I had "Deficiencies in my last years taxes" and "was I aware of issues" .  Told him my CPA would look into it and he replied that my CPA should call him at 530-208-9631.
