This is totally a scam and it is being done by what they call the "Romance Scam." Someone(posing as a man) gets in touch with you, mine was on Facebook, and he begins plotting the scam. He starts with friendship, then wants to take the conversation to the next level, so he progresses to tell you he loves you and wants to marry you, etc, etc. Now he feels he has got you hook, line and sinker so he gives a big line about needing a cheque cashed and would I help him, seeing how we were going to be together very soon. I knew this was a scam from the start, just by the questions that were being asked, so I went along with it so I could report it to the authorities when it came to fruition. My idea was if I could stop this one maybe it would keep someone else from getting into a bind. I was told that the cheque would come from Sunlife and I had to send an email letting them know who I was and was doing this for Mario Herrera. The email address didn't make sense as a business usually always has its name in the email address. Any email address with @consultant.com is a scam. You can look it up. The name on the email I got was Julian Winthrope (Sr.) There was no company name. Just by the writing I knew it was not a senior executive and the spelling was terrible. There is a large sum of money involved and they are asking so many personal questions before I can receive the funds into my account. Now I can put a stop to this and hopefully get rid of this person.
