This number calls me a couple times per day for the last week, never anyone on the line and when I try to call the number back I get a message that I must first dial a #1 to dial this number.

I get calls from this number daily.  The odd thing is they seem to always come right after I've made a call.  I wonder if there is a way they can tell if I've used the phone and then call knowing I'm home?

I have received calls from this number, and it is a collection agency. They left a message, but what makes this caller unique is that the message was delivered by a person with a very thick accent, reminiscent of an overseas call center. Unfortunately, the accent was so thick, I couldn't understand the person. One interesting clue is that the caller mentioned my ex-spouse in the message. I have been divorced for a number of years. So, whatever debt it is that they are attempting to collect, must be from some obligation previous to the divorce. Here is another thought. While this might sound like paranoia, the collection agency could be associated with this web site. When callers receive messages and report to this site, the agency could possibly collect some information this way. Unlikely, but possible

A note on the domain "800notes.com" This web site is hosted with wildwestdomains.com, which is associated with Go Daddy, and located in Phoenix, Arizona. The company that owns 800notes has made their domain information private. It would require some work, but it would be interesting to find out who owns this site. There could be a connection between this site and collection agencies or other companies looking for private information.
