Calls at least once every day, I have them on block.  Decided to call them back..... number listed as non working number.

Called a few minutes ago.  Caller ID said Unknown Name.

Just another number for my call blocker to use to do it's job!!  Best $40 I ever spent!!

Man on line introduced himself by a generic sounding name which I have since forgotten, and said "We will be in your area for home security...(me hanging up)". Now a blocked call, my second today in less than an hour!

I keep reading these post about telemarketer scammers and how they just call and hang up and its annoying so i decided to post so i can tell you why they keep doing it. First of all, these telemarketers can care less if you answer the phone or not. Most of these calls are done by computers or Robo calls and they get paid regardless. This is how it works. Several years ago, AT&T came out with Caller ID. and at first, they could not get any businesses to sign up for it, so AT&T offered businesses money to use Caller ID as a way to generate business so every time a business called someone on behalf of their business and Caller ID was activated, AT&T would have to pay that business so now, people are creating false businesses and buying blocks of telephones numbers from AT&T ( our numbers ) and entering those numbers into the Robo call machines or computers and they keep calling and calling and as long as the Caller ID is activated, they get paid. If you think about, why would a legit company keep calling you over and over with no response from you. It would be a waste of time for that company if it was legit.

These [***] have been on my Caller ID log 4 times since Sept. 10th. Why is it that we complain and nothing is done about it anyway? I am sure the phone companies could really stop this mess if they wanted to. You think????
