Sadly, we live in an era where no one actually calls each other anymore...the only phone calls I get are spams and scams...texting...sigh...is the new way, and it's cold and lame

Texting is also quick and brief, ideally suited for little bits of useful information.
More convenient than voice mail if the recipient isn't near their phone, or can't take a call immediately.
Remember, when the telephone was first being used, there were worries it was cold and impersonal and would cause personal relationships to deteriorate ...
