This happened literally 5 minutes from the moment I typed this up. While at work I received a call from a phone number that I googled to be the number for the FBI in Ann Arbor. I did not answer so the caller, with a horrible accent, left a voicemail. The person calling claimed to be Officer Chris Jordan (sound familiar? same name as a mass shooter). Apparently, like Lisa's case above, there was a complaint filed against me and I was told I needed to call back to avoid "further legal action," by the FBI. I was instructed to call the number at the top of this thread to reach some Officer Thomas Ryan or something. I have not called the number but since the situations explained above only happened within a week ago, I will not be calling that number at all.
A year ago I received a similar call, involving the IRS, almost identical to Ina's situation above, though I do not remember the number that called. Needless to say it was all a scam.
