Received award notification letter through US Mail, as well as, a cashier's check made out to me in the amount of $2980.10.  The check was issued from the same bank that I use and was issued to "help" pay for processing fees to claim my grand prize of $100,000.  I was to call the sponsor at 514-570-4310 and supply information that would result in an activation code which would enable me to deposit the enclosed cashier's check.

I did not receive a phone call, only the prize winning letter noification and the cashier's check.

Today is July 28, 2011,,,  I received a copy and check also.. Same amount and information

My grandmother received the same letter with the same information except the check was for $3975.00.  The phone number they want you to call to activate your check is 514-224-4377.  The check is from Merrill Lynch Chase Bank.  Has anyone ever deposited one of these so-called checks?  If so, what happened?
