I got a call from on december 18th 2007 at around 19h30, after I went on Desjardins web site. A man introduced himself and ask me if I did a certain transaction, ask me my cellphone number to call me in case of emergency, and if I have a Visa Desjardins card. But didn't ask for anything else suspect.
I've tried to call back to be sure it was a call from Desjardins, but an answering machine was saying this message: "Welcome to Desjardins card services, one of our employee has recently tried to reach you. Unfortunatly, we are unable to identify the person who called. If necessary, please be assured that our employee will call again.
I think it is strange (from a financial company) that it hangs up right after, without giving any options...

Me too, I got a call from this phone number. The guy on the phone told me it was for VISA verification for my girlfriend.  Fortunately, she was not home.  Strangely, the caller ID is unknown.  But, he told me to call back to this phone number : 514-397-8649, which still corresponds to Desjardins.  Did you get any news ?

I got a call for this number this morning as well, asked to speak to my supervisor to confirm my employment. They actually called my work number.

Tried to call it back, it gives brief description and hangs up on me, I called the fraud department at desjardins, was on hold for 15 minutes, I have reported this to them. Number calling here was 1-514-397-4548 with no caller ID, just the number. When I called the Desjardins back, they had nothing on file for me there,

Just got a call from them.  Wasnt able to answer on time.  it only rang twice.

I have received a similar phone call today, it is legit.  If you are unsure, dial the number at the back of your card and pick the option to report a stolen card, then ask the operator to give you the "services des preventions" and they'll transfer you to the right department.
