This number has called many times to my home phone. I blocked the number after the first time they called and didn't leave a message. The Caller ID everytime was (AUSTIN TX). Since their blocked it hangs up on them without ringing my phone, but I just looked at the number of times this number has called and it was 9 times. My Caller ID only holds the last 100 numbers that called, so it could be more. There's numerous other numbers who call my home phone, but never leave a message either. I block them too. I guess that I'm on someone's scammer list for charities. I accidentally answered a call about 8 months ago and since then I've blocked around 80+ numbers. My wife and I do donate to several charities every year, but never over the phone or soliciting by mail. We also get alot of mail and email seeking donations even though we've never donated by solicitation ever. Like I said, we have evidently gotten on a list for charity scammers who donate maybe 5 cents on the dollar. That's why we never donate by solicitation because most are crooks! Unfortunately these people seem to be exempt from the DNC - Do Not Call list since their masquerading as a charity. Until the laws are changed we will be harassed by these scammers! It really angers me because the legitimate charities will suffer from the harassment of these crooks! Charity scamming is a big business here and outside the USA. Our elected officials need to close the loopholes in our laws that allow this kind of scum to operate!
