Received a call from 509-671-9428. The voice sounded somewhat familiar. .. The call popped up on my cell phone ID as " Unknown". Area code 509 is is located in some area on Wsshington. I did not recognize the number an d therefore, did not answer the call. A lot of times, scammers will not leave a message on your voicemail. This person did leave a 21 second message. He stated only his so called " first name", stated that I had "won a prize" and that I should "call" him. That voice sounded extremely familiar. After playing the voicemail a few times, it hit me that this was the SAME VOICE on the other end of the phone that had been calling me from several 876 telephone numbers in the past. In fact, the caller from the 876 number left the very SAME message on my voicemail that the caller from area code 876 had left on my voicemail prior to my blocking all 876 numbers from my phone. The caller had a distinct Jamaican accent that is difficult yo overlook. As an investigator with over 18 years of experience, I have come to the conclusion that THERE IS DEFINATELY A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CALLER FROM AREA CODE 876 which is located in Jamica AND THE CALLER FROM AREA CODE 509 which is located in Washington. area code 876 is known to be an area full of scammers. Americans are being constantly warned not to answer any 876 numbers. Just google the 876 area code and see all of the posted warnings. Now...it is not a rare thing to frequently travel to another country numerous times per year. Given all of these facts, it is logical to state that the scammer from area code Jamica travels to the US frequently or visa versa. This also explains why this caller from Jamica is so aggressive and relentless. I have also connected the caller from area code 876 (Jamica) with a few "prize companies" located out of Miami Florida. The first "company" identifies themselves as "ENTRY MONETARY RESEARCH AGENCY" and the second so called "company" identifies themselves as being "AWARDS AND PRIZES RESEARCH AGENCY". Both "companyies" have the exact same address which is "P.O. Box 528010 Miami Florida. Now...if you are skeptical of the information that I have provided then ask youself a few questions. Why would a real company use a P.O Box Address? Why would two different "prize agencies" have the same P.O Box address? I further challenge you to get a map, locate Miami Florida, Washington, and Jamica and to take note of their distance from one another....need I say more??? The fact is that law enforcement, The Do Not Call List etc. can not seem to address the issue of scams... Scammers do not play by the rules and this is why they are called "scammers". They tend to be extremely relentless, aggressive and often rude or threatening They will say whatever is necessary to get you to dig into your pocket and give them some money. As an individual, I will offer a solution. NEVER ANSWER OR CALL BACK STRANGE NUMBERS. DO NOT ANSWER UNKNOWN, PRIVATE OR CALLS FROM AN AREA CODE THAT YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE. IF A "COMPANY" DOES NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE, THEY ARE MOST LIKELY UP TO NO GOOD. IF THEY FAIL TO LEAVE A DETAILED MESSAGE, DO NOT CALL THEM BACK OR ANSWER ANY FUTURE CALLS. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR JUNK MAIL BY TAKING NOTE OF THE ADDRESS, NAME OF SO CALLED COMPANY AND THE ACCURACY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE ENVELOPE. DO NOT EVER BE RUSHED TO RESPOND TO RECEIVE A PRIZE. If a company wishes to give you a prize, you should not have to send any money or hive a credit card number. THEY CAN SEND THE PRIZE TO YOU... FINALLY, BLOCK ALL UNWANTED, UNKNOWN AND PRIVATE CALLS FROM YOUR PHONE. I personally have the youmail appvindtalled on my phone. IF A CALLER CLAIMS THST YOU OWE AN ALLEGED PAST DUE BILL, REQUEST THAT THEY FORWARD ALL INFORMATION REGARDING THAT ALLEGED BILL. Do not be threatened by potential court action. Usually, this type of behavior is a clear indication of a scammer attempting to get his hand into your pocket before you have the chance to think. As for folks carrying homeless signs and asking for money, never give money. If you find it in your heart to help, give food and clothing. Giving money may be supporting a drug or alcohol addiction. If they are truly in need, food and clothing are greatly appreciated. Be lesry of folks wearing a T shirt and encouraging you to support a cause (you must make that determination on your own)... If ANYONE ever becomes aggressive or threatening on the phone, just remember that you always have the power of the "click" on your end of the line. Simpily tell the caller in a calm voice " Please hold on while I get the person that you want to speak with. His name is "Mr. Dial Tone". Then hang up and immediately block all calls from that number. Do not ever provide explainations or carry on a conversation. Doing so is absolutely useless.
